State Grant Funding Awarded Across Blair, Huntingdon Counties, Barger Says

September 15, 2026

HARRISBURG — Local Share Account (LSA) grant funding has been awarded to five public safety, infrastructure and community development projects across the 80th District, according to Rep. Scott Barger (R-Blair/Huntingdon).

“Our local fire companies, police departments, municipal governments and healthcare providers are pillars of our region, and these grants strengthen the vital services they deliver every day,” Barger said. “Their work keeps our communities safe, connected and cared for. I’m pleased to announce projects that invest directly in the well being of residents of Blair and Huntingdon counties.”

“Securing funding for these projects strengthens public safety, improves emergency response, modernizes water and sewer systems, and ensures reliable municipal operations which will improve the quality of life for residents across the 30th district,” Senator Judy Ward said. “I’m pleased to have supported these grant applications, and grateful the CFA recognized their importance and awarded the funding.”

Approved projects include:
• Blair County, $952,389 to purchase new mobile radios that will ensure reliable emergency communication for all 22 fire companies across the county.
• Duncansville Borough, $65,844 to acquire a new police responder vehicle.
• Huston Township, $600,000 to replace the deteriorated superstructure of Bridge No. 1 on Negley Spring Road.
• Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission, $175,000 to purchase and install a new digital X ray machine.
• Warriors Mark Township, $150,000 to support construction of a new municipal building.

LSA grants are funded by state gaming revenue, not taxpayer dollars. The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). This is an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.

Questions about the grants can be directed to Barger’s office at 814-695-2398.
