Barger to Host Two Shredding Events in May

May 8, 2026

HOLLIDAYSBURG – To help constituents protect themselves from identity theft, Rep. Scott Barger (R-Blair/Huntingdon) will be hosting two free document-shredding events to allow residents to dispose of sensitive information safely.

“Scammers and fraudsters are always looking for ways to steal personal information,” Barger said. “By participating in either of my events, you can shred old and out-of-date documents to better protect yourself and your personal information. These events help keep your finances and your future secure.”

The first shredding event will take place on Thursday, May 14, from 4-7 p.m. at Legion Park, 1501 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg

The second shredding event will take place on Thursday, May 21, from 4-7 p.m. at Loyal Gaming Rewards (the former Rite-Aid), 3106 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Bellwood

There will be a four-box limit for each household. No businesses, please. Burgmeier's industrial shredder that will be on-site for both events can handle staples and paper clips, but binder clips must be removed prior to the event.

Attendees can also bring nonperishable food and toiletries that will be donated to a human services organization.

Those with any questions about this event can contact Barger’s Hollidaysburg office at 814-695-2398.
