Barger to Host Document-Shredding Events

April 22, 2025

HARRISBURG – A pair of document-shredding events hosted by Rep. Scott Barger (R-Blair/Huntingdon) will help 80th District residents safely dispose of old paperwork that contains sensitive information like bank account and Social Security numbers.

Free document shredding will be available:
• Thursday, May 15, from 4-7 p.m., at Legion Park, 1501 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg.
• Wednesday, May 28, from 4-7 p.m., at the representative’s district office at 135 Stadium Drive, Bellwood.

“Identity theft is on the rise and should be concerning to everyone,” Barger said. “Effective shredding can keep important information out of the hands of would-be scammers.”

An industrial shredder from Burgmeier’s Hauling will shred documents on-site. The shredder can handle staples, but paper clips and binder clips should be removed beforehand. There is a maximum of four boxes per household. No businesses, please.

Barger invites attendees to bring toiletries and nonperishable food for donation to a nonprofit organization.
